I was born in a small rural town near the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. Being hearing impaired from birth, my artistic talent began to develop early as a means of self expression. I enjoy using oil, acrylic, gouache and watercolor when painting.
While taking vacations with my family, I try to visit and capture beautiful places with my cell phone. I like to start by working with colors, textures and focus points. I try not to be too stiff but just allow my artistic urges take over. I always look for what the painting is communicating, the imagery, tones and mood. I love when colors come into harmony, it makes me feel happy and alive.
It’s a journey to learn about colors, light, shadows and depth.
I am hopeful that I can express what is authentic and beautiful in this world God made and experience His love for us. It’s a privilege to share my art with you. I am thankful.
